Sustainable Practices

Capture and Water Treatment: drinking water is abstracted from the mountain slopes and fuel by gravity reservoirs property. After use, the water undergoes a rigorous treatment by a station consists of 6 steps. Four of these tanks are hermetically sealed where the water undergoes anaerobic fermentation and decanting. When you leave these tanks, already with 85% cleaning, the water goes to a treatment called wetland with marsh plants themselves and ultimately intended, as clean a pond with plants waterfowl and fish, and then get back to nature.

Water Use Rains: captured through the roofs and stored in three large reservoirs totaling 21,000 liters. This rainwater is used for irrigation of the gardens, washing sidewalks and decks and general cleaning.

Domestic space heating: the suites, as well as other areas of the house are heated by an imported device called stove located in the living room, which fueled by firewood, when burned, heat is conducted by heat pipes. This system, besides adding to a comfortable temperature indoors, promotes representative economy and extensive use of wood heat

Heating the water: the water supplying all taps and showers in the house are used for mixers, designed cold and warm water. Heating occurs through located in the kitchen stove, provided with a copper coil which carries the water to the interior of the furnace according to the hot water storage in a boiller which keeps heated for several days. This process results in ecological showers.

Natural lighting: the house has 35 large glass windows, all panoramas. 12 of these windows are lit ceiling that keeps the house, from the first to the last ray of light, including being illuminated by the full moon.

Thermal Blanket: the house was covered with a thermal blanket between the roof and ceiling, in order to maintain comfortable temperature, so on hot days, as in the cold days.

Biological control of insects: in the areas of movement of persons was planted citronella to combat insects, especially flies and mosquitoes. This plant also serves to soothing teas, against insomnia and headaches.

Handicap Accessibility: despite being a building on the mountain and have no flat space in all areas of social access ramps for wheelchairs were built, as well as the concern for hallways and large door for better mobility and convenience of all people.

Organic orchard and vegetable garden: the garden supplies the kitchen of the lodge. Vegetables, spices and vegetables are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In the orchard fruit species are grown. The irrigation water Extravasor occurs (burglar, Remains of Water Tanks)

Fresh towels and linens: the exchange of towels used by guests occurs every 2 days or quanton requested. The exchange of bedding occurs every 4 days or when requested.

Using energy saving bulbs: in all lighting uses up economic or LED lamps.

Utilization of Leftover Water: The water Extravasor (thief) and serves for irrigation of gardens and orchard, fuel sources that adorn the gardens of the lodge.
