Running of the Ox River Trail - Aparados da Serra National Park
According to ICMBIO (which manages the Aparados da Serra National Park and Serra Geral National Park) We inform you:
During summer time, the Ox River Trail will be open for visitation on Mondays.
We remind you that in order to make the trail it is obligatory to hire a local guide accredited next to the Aparados da Serra National Park.
After the closing of daylight hours, the National Park Aparados da Serra, will return to open the trail of the Rio do Boi, only from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 to 17h.
Where to hire the Guide:
You can hire a guide for the ox river trail along the Canyons Route or directly with your Pousada at Aparados da Serra in Praia Grande dos Canyons / SC.
Entrance of the Aparados da Serra National Park
According to information from ICMBIO, which manages the Aparados da Serra National Park, as of 10/16, park tickets have been readjusted. The ticket price will be R $ 15.00 - for Brazilians there will be a discount (R $ 8.00).
The entrance to the upper part of the Itaimbezinho Canyon must be purchased directly at the entrance to the park.
The Entrance to the Rio do Boi Trail (Interior of the Itaimbezinho Canyon) must be paid directly to the guide, and this passes to the park. To enter the ox river trail, the visitor must hire an accredited guide next to the park.
How to get to the Ox River Trail:
The entrance to the Boi River trail in the Aparados da Serra National Park must be done by the guaritra located in Praia Grande dos Canyos / SC. From the city center to the parking lot, it is 11Km by beaten ground road (about 20 minutes of travel).
Some local drivers from Praia Grande dos Canyons / SC, also offer the transfer service.
